Governance
Our governors are a group of volunteers from the local community – including Coleshill Parish Church and parents – as well as representatives from the teaching staff, who have all made a commitment to provide the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team with support and advice to help them run the school for the benefit of the pupils and the wider community. They come from all walks of life, reflecting different communities, work skills and life experiences. All have a shared interest in helping our school be the best it can be. Their role is sometimes described as being a critical friend.
The Local Academy Board meets once every half term to deal with school business, and have additional subcommittee meetings to discuss Standards & Performance and Resources. They help to set standards, maintain the Christian ethos, monitor the school budget and track academic progress against targets. The-Local Academy Board operates within the terms of reference and delegated powers set by the Birmingham Diocesan Multi-Academy Board of directors in its scheme of delegation. Governors can only act together as a body, not as individuals. The Headteacher is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school.
