Praise and worship
Each week, at Coleshill C of E Primary School, we dedicate one of our worships to praising God through song. Singing is a joyful, vibrant, and meaningful expression of our Christian distinctiveness and lies at the heart of our school community. Through music, we celebrate our vision and values, especially our guiding principle to clothe yourself in love, and encourage every child and adult to flourish spiritually. Singing fosters a deep sense of belonging, unity, and inclusivity among our pupils, reinforcing the core Christian principles that shape our school and are firmly rooted in our faith.
We are blessed to welcome a range of guest singers who share their expertise and promote songs that inspire and uplift us. This includes a live acoustic singing bi-weekly experience with Open the Book. One of our focus songs this year has been Waymaker, taught to us by Hope Plumb during Black History Month, which beautifully illustrates how Jesus shows us the way ([link to song]). We also proudly sing our school song, The Green School, written by one of our talented parents and deeply rooted in our school values. These songs hold a special place in our hearts and were sung with pride during our 30th birthday celebration, powerfully showcasing how music unites our vibrant, inclusive community. Through these shared musical experiences, we continue to live out our Christian ethos, encouraging every pupil to flourish in the love of God.
“Singing is my favourite worship because you get to sing about God”
