Welcome to Our SEND Information Report
At Coleshill Church of England Primary School, we believe every child is unique, valued and capable of flourishing. Our Christian vision shapes the way we care for, support and nurture all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). We want every child to feel safe, known, supported and understood as they grow academically, socially and emotionally.
This SEND Information Report explains how we identify needs early, the types of support we offer, and how we work in partnership with families, teachers, specialist staff and external agencies to ensure every pupil receives the right help at the right time. It walks you through the whole journey—from raising a concern, to the Graduated Approach (Assess → Plan → Do → Review), to the additional support available from our pastoral team and outside professionals.
You’ll also find clear information about:
- the four broad areas of need (communication & interaction; cognition & learning; social, emotional & mental health; sensory & physical)
- how the school adapts teaching to meet different needs
- the interventions we use
- how we measure progress and review support
- how we ensure all pupils are included in trips, clubs and wider school life
- transitions into new year groups or settings
Working in partnership with parents is at the heart of our approach. We value your knowledge of your child and will always involve you in discussions, planning and review. You can speak to your child’s class teacher at any time, or contact our SENCo, Mrs Rutherford, who leads SEND provision across the school and works closely with families and external professionals to ensure each child receives the support they need.
Our aim is simple: to make sure every child feels included, supported and able to thrive, whatever their starting point or level of need.
