Our School

For many years, we have been known as ‘The Green School’ in Coleshill. Our identity as The GREEN School expresses how our Christian vision is lived out daily. GREEN reflects our commitment to God First, Respect, Excellence, Effort and Nature, rooted in biblical teaching and shaping who we are and how we live and learn together.

>Putting God First grounds our life and decisions in faith, guiding our values and purpose.

>Respect reflects Jesus’ call to love our neighbour, shaping relationships built on dignity, kindness and humility.

>Excellence and Effort express our belief that everyone is called to grow, persevere and use their gifts well, working wholeheartedly as an act of service to God and others.

>Nature reflects our understanding of creation as God’s gift, calling us to stewardship, care and responsibility for the world we share.

Together, The GREEN School identity gives a clear, shared language for living out our Christian vision, shaping behaviour, learning, relationships and community life so that all can belong and flourish.

Our Commitment To Excellence

We are focused on securing strong foundations, equity and positive life chances for every pupil, particularly those who are vulnerable, disadvantaged or have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The Headteacher, senior leadership team and governing body work strategically together to evaluate impact, challenge practice and ensure that no child is overlooked.

Quality of Education

Our curriculum is ambitious, inclusive and coherently planned, shaped by our Christian values of love, service and responsibility. It is carefully sequenced to ensure strong foundations in reading, writing, communication and mathematics, enabling pupils to know more, remember more and do more over time.

Teaching is underpinned by strong subject knowledge, clear routines and effective pedagogy, ensuring learning is purposeful and accessible for all pupils. Staff know pupils well and adapt teaching thoughtfully so that those with SEND, those who are disadvantaged and other vulnerable pupils can access the same high-quality curriculum alongside their peers and make strong progress from their starting points.

Behaviour and Attitudes

Our expectations for behaviour and attitudes are high, clear and consistent, rooted in our commitment to respect, kindness and living well together as a community. Pupils understand routines and expectations and respond positively, resulting in calm, orderly and purposeful classrooms.

Positive behaviour is taught, modelled and reinforced through strong relationships. Attendance and punctuality are prioritised, with early identification and effective support for pupils and families who need additional help, reflecting our belief in compassion alongside accountability.

Personal Development

We are committed to developing the whole child, recognising the importance of pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development in enabling them to thrive academically and personally.

Through our curriculum, enrichment and strong pastoral care, pupils are supported to build confidence, resilience and empathy. Guided by our Christian vision, pupils are encouraged to reflect, show respect for others, develop a strong sense of belonging and make thoughtful, responsible choices as they grow and learn within a diverse society.

Leadership and Management

Leaders are driven by a clear moral purpose, rooted in our Christian vision and a shared commitment to equity and excellence. Decisions are evidence-informed and focused on improving the quality of education, securing strong outcomes and ensuring inclusive practice for all pupils.

Staff are well supported through high-quality professional development, enabling them to meet the needs of all learners effectively and sustainably. Governors provide appropriate challenge and support, and ensure leaders remain focused on impact, accountability and statutory responsibilities.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is effective and central to our school’s culture. Guided by our Christian commitment to care, protection and responsibility, staff are vigilant, well trained and proactive in identifying concerns and taking timely action.

Pupils feel safe, know who to talk to if they are worried, and trust that adults will listen and respond. Robust systems ensure safeguarding arrangements are fit for purpose, regularly reviewed and focused on early help and partnership working where needed.
