Our School
In line with Ofsted’s inspection framework, we are continually working towards outstanding outcomes for our pupils in five key areas as follows. The Headteacher along with the senior leadership team and governing body regularly monitor, challenge and celebrate the school’s progress.
ACHIEVEMENT
We expect pupils to make good progress in subjects across the curriculum all the way through their time at our school, taking into account their starting points and any barriers to learning they may have.
We want pupils to acquire in depth knowledge and be able to develop and apply a wide range of reading, writing, communication and mathematical skills in all lessons.
TEACHING
Our teachers know their classes well, and have high expectations of all pupils, setting challenging tasks based on their assessment of pupils’ prior skills, knowledge and understanding.
We expect our teachers to have well planned lessons and implement imaginative and effective teaching strategies to generate high levels of enthusiasm for, participation in and commitment to learning.
Teaching at our school aims to promote pupils’ confidence and independence when they tackle challenging activities, and develop pupils’ skills, including being able to use their literacy and numeracy skills in other subjects.
BEHAVIOUR & SAFETY
Our school is a safe school. We take our responsibilities to safeguarding children and providing a healthy and safe workplace seriously.
We want to encourage enthusiastic attitudes to learning, and to provide a positive learning environment where pupils show high levels of courtesy, collaboration and cooperation in lessons and calm, orderly behvaiour when moving around the school.
We expect pupils to be consistently punctual at the start of the school day and to have good attendance throughout the school year.
Our school has an active and effective approach to identifying and tackling bullying, meaning all groups of pupils feel safe at school at all times.
SCHOOL LEADERSHIP
The Headteacher, senior leadership team and the governing body have high aspirations for pupils and high expectations of staff, and always strive to improve achievement and outcomes for all pupils.
We want to ensure that pupils have excellent experiences at school, and that they are well equipped for the next stage of their education.
SPIRITUAL, MORAL, SOCIAL & CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT
We support pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development through both the curriculum and pastoral care, enabling them to thrive in a supportive learning community.
