Designated Safeguarding Leads

Welcome to our safe school.

Culture

Welcome to our safe school. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at Coleshill C of E Primary School & Nursery is everyone’s responsibility.

All children have the fundamental right to be treated with respect, protected from harm, and feel safe in their interactions with adults and other children. We have a duty to safeguard children and provide a safe and secure environment.

We foster a strong safeguarding culture built on trust, transparency and shared responsibility. We operate a clear Whistleblowing Policy to ensure any concerns about staff conduct can be raised and addressed swiftly, safely and in line with Warwickshire Safeguarding Children Board procedures.

WE ARE COMMITTED TO SAFEGUARDING ALL CHILDREN AND WE EXPECT ALL STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, PARENTS AND VISTORS TO SHARE THIS COMMITMENT.

Prevent

Coleshill C of E Primary fully upholds the Prevent Duty (2015) as part of our safeguarding responsibilities. We are committed to protecting children from radicalisation, extremism and exploitation by building critical thinking, resilience and respect.

Building Resilience

We promote British values—democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance—and empower pupils to safely challenge extremist ideas.

All staff have completed the Home Office Prevent Awareness Training, enabling them to:

  • Recognise early indicators of radicalisation
  • Understand local risks
  • Report concerns appropriately

Understanding Radicalisation

Radicalisation is a safeguarding issue. It can occur online or offline and may involve political, religious or ideological extremism. Children can be particularly vulnerable due to online influences, peer pressure or personal difficulties.
