Links Beyond our School

At our church school, we celebrate our Christian distinctiveness through meaningful acts of worship and community engagement. Bi-weekly, we share prayers with parents that reflect our collective worship themes, alongside images showing how children have responded in school. We also invite parents into our worship bi-weekly to celebrate their child’s achievements and engage in an act of worship with us. We embrace opportunities to spread messages of hope, such as taking part in the Childline Kindness Challenge, which allowed us to share both Christian and non-faith messages around Coleshill.

Orchard Blythe Care Home

Our strong links with Orchard Blythe Care Home enable worship to reach beyond the school community, reflecting our Christian vision in action. Pupils regularly visit residents to share hymns and prayers, play games, and spend time building meaningful relationships, fostering genuine intergenerational connections rooted in compassion and mutual respect. Through these shared experiences, pupils support and enrich the spiritual development of the care home residents, while also deepening their own spiritual growth as they learn from the residents’ life experiences, faith journeys, and wisdom. Residents are warmly invited into school to attend nativities and acts of worship, where they are valued members of our wider worshipping community. These reciprocal relationships demonstrate how worship nurtures spirituality, belonging, and Christian love both within the school and beyond its gates.

We are beginning a new partnership and cherish this, with our linked school in Malawi, where we send messages, donations, and  prayers, strengthening our global Christian family and living out our values of compassion and service.

Links with St Peter’s and St Paul’s Church

We enjoy a strong and valued relationship with our local church and Reverend Sarah Tillet, which plays an important role in our life as a Church school. Reverend Sarah regularly leads collective worship, offers support to families through Parents Who Pray, and offers pastoral care, helping both pupils and adults to grow spiritually.

The church is a place of love and worship for our community, and pupils take part in special services there throughout the year as well as visiting during RE lessons. These experiences help pupils see Christian values lived out beyond the classroom. As a foundation governor, Reverend Sarah supports Christian distinctiveness and works closely with the school to ensure our Christian vision is at the heart of all we do, enabling our whole community to flourish.

We also share the Church News on our school newsletter as seen below to provide all parents with accessible information about what is going on at our church.

Open The Book

We also nurture strong relationships with Churches Together, who support our school through their Open the Book team. They lead engaging, bi‑weekly acts of worship, bringing Bible stories to life and supporting the spiritual development of our pupils through storytelling, reflection, and prayer. Our links extend beyond the school day, with Churches Together also offering enriching Christian community events such as Journey to the Stable at Christmas and Journey to the Cross at Easter. These experiences strengthen our connections with the wider Christian community and help pupils see faith lived out beyond the school, enabling them to grow spiritually and feel part of something bigger.

Our Families

Throughout the year, parents, carers, and family members are regularly invited to join us in collective worship, strengthening our shared sense of community. Most frequently, families are welcomed to our Friday Celebration Worships, where we gather to celebrate the achievements, talents, and uniqueness of every child, giving thanks and praising their successes together.

Families are also invited to attend a range of special services and celebrations, including nativities across several year groups, Harvest Festival services, Easter celebrations, and our Year 6 Leavers’ Service at the end of the school year. These moments of shared worship provide meaningful opportunities for reflection, thanksgiving, and joy, allowing our wider school community to come together and celebrate important milestones in the life of the school.

30th Birthday Celebrations

In Autumn 2025, we held a 30th Birthday Party for Coleshill C of E School. This was made invitational to all members of our community. We sang Waymaker, our new hymn, The Green School song, created by one of our talented parents and played games from the past. What a lovely way to celebrate ‘Who We Are’ at Coleshill.
